In Episode 1,  ABC Gotham's amateur historians, Kate and Kathleen, discuss the Atlantic Avenue Tunnel.  Built in 1844, closed under suspicious circumstances in 1861, rediscovered in 1980, and then closed in 2010 AGAIN under suspicious circumstance, there's definitely something going on here.  This star- studded story includes contributions from Walt Whitman, John Wilkes Booth, H. P. Lovecraft, Bob Diamond, AND Electus Litchfield.  (Who's Electus Litchfield?  Tune in the find out!)

I was found this podcast to be very interesting. especially since im a worker of bob diamond during his tunnel tours up until the final days.(an im still in the wings untill the possible reopening.) its seriously a tragic event of such a awesome piece of history.being prevented from all to see.. i mean seriously it would even draw tourists from as far as England and Australia . so obviously its closure is a major fail to the Brooklyn and nyc area tourism .

You’re right, Max, it really is tragic. Recently, a tourist from South Africa was extremely disappointed to learn the tunnel was closed. That was one of his main reasons for coming to visit New York. It’s absolutely ridiculous that the tunnel is closed.
